Meet the Rikers.
They are a homeschool family that loves Jesus, community, adventure and music. You will often find their home filled with people having a meal together or hosting an impromptu worship night on their back patio. They’ve remodeled several houses together. Zach is a skilled contractor and Sarah is full of ideas to make things work creatively. In January of 2020 they bought their first short bus and converted it into a camper. Within the next couple of months they took their first trip out west, where Zach installed reclaimed barn wood on a ranch in the Teton Valley. They instantly fell in love with the schoolie life. In 2024 they sold their bus and spent a year focusing on local ministry. The Rikers long to see revival in their region. To see people set free and on fire for Jesus. Their kids are right alongside them praying and loving people as well. They just bought another bus and are ready to do a whole new project and get on the road again.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Sarah had met with counselors off and on over the years but never fully experienced a breakthrough until one night while praying with beloved mentors. She experienced the power of the Holy Spirit in one instance. The pain that she had carried with her, her whole life was just totally gone as she renounced lies and forgave people who had hurt her. Of course she had to retrain thought patterns and renew the mind through reading the bible, prayer, worship and discipleship. But this experience has forever marked Sarah by knowing how close and intimate God is and how much he loves her and wants to walk in the freedom he paid for each of us on the cross. There was plenty of work that she has had to do over the years but well worth it as she becomes closer and closer to the heart of Jesus. As she has walked in this minority she sees so many others with the same story. Chugging away but never seeing the breakthrough until the power of the Holy Spirit breaks in and people walk fully in their identity in Him.
Zach too, had a similar experience. Zach has dealt with anxiety off and on for most of his life. There was a point where Zach just felt like it was enough and he was done with it. He decided to seek God to heal his mind, body and spirit. He started seeing a functional health doctor who helped him to make some better choices for his physical health as well as seeking mentorship. Through seeking God's help in all three avenues Zach has seen major breakthroughs. Although anxiety still has a tendency to sneak up on him, through the power of prayer and worship Zach is experiencing abundant healing in knowing God's peace more than ever before.
Through these journeys, both Sarah and Zach have come to a deeper understanding of God’s love, freedom, and peace, equipping them to walk in their identity in Him and guide others toward the same breakthrough.
